I Started It : Limoncello
Yesterday, as I sat on my Zoom call for my Spanish class, I looked out the window and saw all the weird lumpy lemons on my tree and thought, “What a waste. I should do something with those crazy lemons.”
So I did!
A special shout out to my friend Liz who, after I told her how much I missed Italy (I was there in December, how crazy is that? Story for another time), told me to make Limoncello. Yay, Liz!
I googled “Limoncello recipe” and it told me to peel the lemons and add the thin strips of peel to a jar. Then they said to pour vodka on it. I did all this at 9am after driving my car to the dealership for a recall and having a small panic attack on the freeway because I was outside my house.
Apparently there are more steps but for now I am supposed to let this jar sit in a cabinet for 3-4 weeks, then I add probably some sugar and then I drink it. I can’t wait!
We may still be fighting Covid-19 in 3 weeks, but I won’t have scurvy. ARRRRRGH! (omg help I need to get out)
See you in a few weeks for an update! If you do it too, TWEET ME and we can find ways to distract ourselves for the next few weeks together.
